Saks Website: Check it out. 7 For All Mankind silk ruffle top
Saturday, October 31st, 2009Forgot to mention, Saks has an excellent site. Just blogged about their Rock The Party outfits. Wanted to mention, if you rest your curser on the outfit, the “model” will show you the back of the outfit. Like the 7 For All Mankind blue silk ruffle top, rest your curser on the top. Surprise! Such cool back detail. SOLD!
Bah! Humbug! Retailers, please get a grip! Jingle Bells too soon.
Friday, October 30th, 2009Some of you may remember the days when Christmas decor came out at Thanksgiving. Those were the good old days. We’ve been seeing the Christmas theme earlier and earlier. It is frustrating for the serious shopper.
Unfortunately, I’ve had to furnish and decorate 3 houses during the Christmas season, which now, seems to run from August through mid-January. Do you know what that means? Less retail space dedicated to 365-day shopping needs. Do most people buy new Christmas decor every year? I doubt it. While I do not deny the necessity to display Christmas items, do we have to start so early?
Square footage remains the same within the store. When stores are overloaded with Christmas “sorry, I say crap,” other merchandise has to be stored away. Did you ever try to buy patio furniture at Home Depot in November? The floor space has been dedicated to Christmas decor. Thank goodness for catalogs and the Internet.
Today I wanted to buy a king comforter set. At one store, the “storage” door was open and I saw bedding overflowing. What was given prime selling space? Some Christmas decor I have no interest in; I see year after year; most people already have.
Sorry to be a scrooge, but I enjoy Christmas in smaller “retail” doses and at the right time of year!

French Connection at Macy’s / Coastland Center – Naples, Florida
Thursday, October 29th, 2009French Connection is a fun line. Although geared for the younger market, I always look through for my daughter or an occasional buy for me! It’s a worthwhile look for all ages. Here’s a few items I found while at Macy’s. The one-shoulder black number with fuchsia under-bow is adorable. Check it out, one and all!![]()
Saks’ Reasons To Celebrate this season / Alice + Olivia Dress is Hot!
Thursday, October 29th, 2009BCBG at Macy’s, Coastland Center, Naples, Florida
Wednesday, October 28th, 2009BCBG is a wonderful line of clothing. They are so versatile. The fit is better for younger women and so are some of the styles, but there are “young” and younger alike shopping that line. I usually go up a size and when I watch shoppers, I can see the “young” are doing the same thing. The beauty of this is their market hits a wider audience than some lines. The “young” may have a bigger budget and want fun clothing, while BCBG presents itself for the younger market. You’ll always see the gamut while shopping their stores or displays at the department stores. BCBG is doing it right! Here are a few pictures of the display at Macy’s. The little back numbers were great. The colors were great. They’ve got it going on! Always exciting!

INC at Macy’s/Coastland Center – Naples, Florida
Tuesday, October 27th, 2009I went to the Macy’s at Coastland Center for bed sheets, but I always stop to see the “displays.” I tell you, I’ve written about INC before, but this line never ceases to amaze me. It is geared toward young (at heart) and younger alike with good quality and affordable price-point. You’ll always find INC in my closet. It is “trendy” without being “out” the next season. The clothes fit well and are priced well. Take a look at the jacket/shirt/pants combo. The price for the jacket is $89, shirt $20, pants $69. You’d wear this out! You’d look on top of your game and could dress it up or down depending on shoes/boots, purse, jewelry. The black/blue dress is $79 and again, could be a staple this season. Always love a print under a solid cardigan or jacket/coat. Possibilities are endless.
Before I left the INC department, I happened to see a dress (silver/black) that I’m going to purchase. Heels or boots, depending on the occasion. Jewelry, makeup would determine the dress up or down. Just great choices with a $79 dress.
INC, you have it goin’ on! Love-love-love it!!
