Coldwater Creek: Check Out Dress and Clothes That Travel Well
Saturday, November 28th, 2009First Impressions dress really caught my eye; a classic style flattering to many figures in a beautiful color, all for under $100. I receive Coldwater Creek catalogs and have shopped with them for years. Their clothing is great for travel. Never wrinkle and again, figure-flattering. If you have spring travel on your calendar, check out their outfits. Wash and wear. Also, they have coupons in several magazines or attached to their catalogs. This dress could cost you $70!
Multi-Strap Sandal for under $100 at Nordstrom. It’s in the details.
Thursday, November 26th, 2009Here’s a great shoe to complement your holiday dress this season. It is feminine and has that “wow” factor. The heel is 4” for those who can handle that height. One thing I like about the strapping at the top of the foot; it forms a “V” instead of straight across. That “V” does wonders in elongating the leg. Your eye goes from sexy open toe up and the “V” opens the way upward. Sometimes the “straight across” strap abruptly stops the eye, even if for a split-second, it can make a difference in the look of the shape of your leg. Always the details!
Here’s another cute softer-looking fabric BP. ‘Empire’ Sandal for $69.95 found at the bottom left of the shoe shopping page linked above. Again, we have a soft “V” at the top of the foot. Great looks, great prices for both shoes. Party on looking gorgeous!
Nordstrom; Leading the way in Retail. Thanks for listening!
Wednesday, November 25th, 2009We moan and groan because we’re exposed to Christmas earlier and earlier. One year, I saw ornaments being stocked in August! I wrote a blog a month ago about us “consumers” being over-exposed to “retail” Christmas. Corporate, please get the hint. We know Christmas is coming and we’ll plan and shop our needs without seeing decor and listening to xmas music as the school year starts. It’s just so overdone! We’re already over-tasked, over-exposed, over-pass worded, without the not-so-subtle hints in August that “Christmas is coming!” Let’s get through Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving first. We all know what comes next without the reminders.
Well, I was delighted this past weekend while shopping at Nordstrom on Chicago’s Michigan Avenue. See for yourself. I was so excited I had to take a picture of it! I think our moans and groans are finally being heard! Ah yes! (sigh) Now it’s time for Fa-La-La !
Clarins at Nordstrom: A nice makeover at day’s end
Tuesday, November 24th, 2009Shopping at Nordstrom on Chicago’s Michigan Avenue, I was tired late afternoon. Going through the lively cosmetic area, a gal pulled me aside and asked to do a makeover. I was tired but upon her insistence, I sat in a director’s chair while she gave me a “pick-me-up.” After a great face, neck and hand massage, she applied some makeup and spruced me up! It was just what I needed to keep going! Clarins has a nice product line. I carry the hand cream in my purse and bought the neck cream that day. It was a welcome break that afternoon and an opportunity to know more about the product.
Chicago shopping; Hello Nordstrom and Ann Taylor in time for parade on Michigan Avenue!
Monday, November 23rd, 2009
I went to Chicago’s Gold Coast, Michigan Avenue, on Saturday, November 21st, for a day of taking in big-city energy, shopping, seeing the sites and people-watching. Unbeknownst to us, it was Christmas parade and tree lights day. By 4:00 pm, you could not walk on the sidewalks of Michigan Avenue! We’d been in Nordstrom for several hours and wanted to stop by Ann Taylor. We maneuvered out the back of Nordstrom and side streets to Ann Taylor. I was able to relax in a big arm chair and watch the parade while my friend was in the fitting rooms. She ended up buying several nice pieces she’ll use this holiday season. The salespeople were very knowledgeable and so cheerful! One of the salespeople, a young man, had a great sense of humor and really knew his business! Good going Ann Taylor ! Things were hopping and holiday party-dressing needs accomplished! We finished shopping as the parade was over and the parade crowd dispersed. The street was glowing with lights and smiling faces. Here are a few pictures from my phone of the “after parade” party.
