HANDS–Don’t let them give you away. Sally Hansen, StriVectin-HC and Banana Boat to the rescue!
Thursday, May 26th, 2011We see the face, sometimes ‘maintained’ with plastic surgery, Botox and fillers along with daily rituals of motions and potions. But what about your hands? Years ago I remember spotting a woman at the airport who was lovely (with good plastic surgery), but her hands looked 20+ years older than her face. It was an ah-ha! moment.
Truth is our hands take a beating. While manicures help, what can you add to your daily regimen that will make a difference?
First off, SALLY HANSEN has two products that easily fit into your routine. Their Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oil keeps your cuticles moisturized and in good shape. I dip 2 times- twice a day: once to quickly swipe over the cuticles of my hands, once to do the same to my toes, in the morning. Repeat before bed. It takes 10 seconds and is well worth it. Then I apply STRIvECTIN-HC up to 3 times a day. The cream works well over time, along with providing UVA II and UVB protection. Which lends another thought:
- – Protect your hands from sun damage – -
A small 1 oz tube of BANANA BOAT SPORT is a great travel carry-on and purse companion. Don’t forget to protect the skin on your hands! With washing several times a day, whatever we put on in the morning needs to be reapplied. AND IF sleeve length permits, give your elbows a little attention! Give yourself a hug, cup your elbows, and massage in circular motion with the lotion left over from your hands.
How to extend a manicure? I’ve found SALLY HANSEN’S MEGA SHINE extends the life of your manicure several days. Apply a coat two days after your manicure, then two days after that. If your nail polish isn’t overly chipped, it gives your nails shine and the “just done” look.
Have you tried the “jellish” or shellac manicures? Don’t forget to put sunscreen on your hands 30 minutes before your appointment.
So gals, worth the time, worth the effort and relatively little cost. Just don’t let your hands give you away!
