Victoria Beckham is one lucky girl and luckily for us, David Beckham and H&M are teaming up for a Super Bowl ad you don’t want to miss.

The hype is out there on ads we’ll see on Sunday, Feb 5th. I’ll take breaks during the game, but I don’t want to miss the commercials.

Something tells me when H&M’s ad is replayed, the “pause” button will come in handy .

Thank you H&M.  You know how to sell it!

While we anticipate the Pats vs Giants competition,  we also look forward to the creative Super Bowl ads to entertain us.

111 million people watched the Super Bowl game last year and probably not many less watched the commercials. Advertisers pay big bucks to run their ads on the “biggest stage possible” and what ultimately becomes water-cooler talk, calls, tweets and articles the following weeks, as we dissect who got their message across or who tanked. Throughout the years, I recall fellow Super Bowl partiers looking at each other after an ad and saying, “Who, what?”  Ouch !

Novy Domains aka Novy.co, emphasizes the opportunity for .CO as a tool to promote business on the web. As far as TV advertising, Super Bowl advertisers with deep pockets can hit it out of the park. While men appreciate Tom Brady as NE Patriots’ 3x Super Bowl winning quarterback, and women appreciate….well… everything else, UGG appeals to both sexes with choosing Mr. Brady in UGG Australia’s first men’s campaign.

“Rugged” and “masculine” are words used to describe UGG men’s footwear and two things that come to my mind with thoughts about Mr. Brady.  (Who isn’t a little jealous of his wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen…but what a beautiful family!)  And then to watch Tom’s talent on the field..what a dream!

The first UGG boots arrived in America from Australia  in 1978. Women’s UGGs growth has exploded the last decade with marketing to college girls as hip AND more serious-fashioned ladies in their teaming with Jimmy Choo in 2010. So the company decided to amp up the men’s side with its first-ever TV and digital blitz using Tom Brady as its “famous face” for the campaign. Touchdown!

Thirty-four year old Tom Brady’s no slouch in this equation either. The honors graduate of the University of Michigan, two-time NFL Most Valuable Player, realizes this partnership can outlast his career. It’s not like hanging up the sneakers when he retires from the field.

I give this partnership an A+. The UGG brand delivers warm footwear for cold New England winters for Mr. Brady, and the same along with feel-good appealing ads for everyone else.

It’s 60’s mania with Mad Men winning another Emmy and new TV series Pan Am on ABC.  Another throwback is The Playboy Club TV series on NBC.  More went into the wardrobes of the bunny costumes than one would think. Costume designer Isis Mussenden paid careful attention to detail and history dressing the pretty ladies.

The 10 outfit colors were re-created from the originals. Each suit is custom to fit every curve. Seven types of yarn were tried  out before finding the right one for proper weight of the tail…let’s think bouncy and fluffy.

Cufflinks were provided by Playboy with the bunny insignia. The ears are not on a headband as one might assume; they’re a detachable headpiece.

As gals all know, hosiery can work miracles. No wonder the Bunnies wear two pair of hose, giving them those amazing legs and pulling it all tight!

I believe one of the successes of AMC’s Mad Men is the way costume designer Janie Bryant has captured the cool polished style of the 1960’s era. The Gap’s Banana Republic is launching 1960’s era chic in collaboration with Bryant and creative director Simon Kneen beginning August 11th. The 65-piece collection for men and women, combine Banana Republic’s modern American style with 1960’s clothing and inspiration.

Mad Men’s fifth season airs early 2012 and reigns as the only television series in cable history to win the Emmy for Outstanding Drama three years in a row (2008, 2009 and 2010), continuing to be the most Emmy- nominated drama on television. In July, The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences awarded the series with 19 nominations making it the most recognized series on television.  The Emmy award show which airs on September 18th, along with Banana Republic’s collection launch on August 11th, will lend excitement to shopping for Fall/Winter wardrobe needs.

I can’t wait to see the tailored dresses and patterned pump heels!

Gym, Check. Diet, Check. Face, Lift

There’s something about “makeover” shows, whether it’s fashion, makeup, decorating. The “before and after” leaves one with a sense of accomplishment, even as a spectator.

Dabbling in decorating myself, I was excited about the promos for Million Dollar Decorators on BRAVO.  While decorating requires a budget, this is a dream show where the budget is high and  decorators have permission to showcase the owner’s image and lifestyle that most of us “oh and ah” about. The furniture, the lighting, the fabrics! Like couture, “that is just lovely!”

I was not disappointed and immediately added the show to my DVR list. Eye-candy, fun, drama!
