The semi-annual sale at Nordstrom was a success! Here’s a display from the International Plaza.  Business was brisk! . This outfit featuring a Caslon cardigan is adorable and shifts easily from work to play. We bought the grey sweater along with the Halogen seamed knit skirt in deep violet. This skirt will become a staple; the new black!

Rubbish Military Knit Jacket

NARS was developed in 1994 by Francois Nars and is a terrific makeup line. I’m a follower due to its highly pigmented color and sleek black presentation. I’ve had  knowledgeable makeup artists develop combinations for me that work well with my skin color and enhance my green eyes. NARS National Artist Lisa LeSeur put together a new color palette for me this day which I really like. I bought new eye shadows, eye liner, blush and lipsticks. It’s a nice change and a softer lip color. I met Lisa LeSeur at the NARS counter at Nordstrom at the International Plaza in Tampa, Florida.  Brandi Perkins with NARS at Saks in Naples is my usual go-to girl, but when Brandi told me Lisa LeSeur would be coming for the NARS event, I was anxious to see what Lisa had in mind for me. Get to know your “makeup artists” because if they are familiar with you, they know what will work for you. They even let me know when new colors come in that they think will work for me. I’m still one that picks up a cosmetic or two at the drug stores, but I’m the most satisfied when I can try the makeup and have an expert help me!

We are in the thick of it as we count down the days. Here at Nordstrom at the International Plaza in Tampa, surroundings are festive but not overdone. It helps keep you focused on your list at hand.  The sales staff is very helpful, so don’t be afraid to ask for help or ideas. Always take advantage of the staff’s knowledge at any store. I find they want to help and are happy to be kept busy.  They also know good sale items or the best deals.   

          Betsey Johnson knows what girls like; she’s been designing since the 1960’s.  You’re drawn to her jewelry because it’s interesting and fun.  If you’re looking for a sassy statement necklace or kick-butt earrings, check out Betsey’s line.  You won’t be disappointed!  Great bracelets and rings too!  You won’t need a total set; one or two pieces will complete your outfit. Love you Betsey!

NARS is a great line.  I was introduced to Nars a few years ago at Saks who had a NARS makeup artist in that day.  She put together a color combination for me that was the best I have seen in my _ _ years!  Anyway, I’m hooked!  I travel between Saks and Nordstrom in Chicago and Naples, Florida. It is highly-pigmented color, which is great for my complexion.  Here Amy Warp at Nars at International Plaza, Tampa, Florida, is giving me a few beauty tricks.  Thank you Amy!

Love these Michael Kors shoes, but I have a confession to make.  I was at International Plaza in Tampa, Florida, this week for double-points at Nordstrom. Five women approached me about the shoes I was wearing.  BCBGirls  I purchased from Nordstrom a few years ago.  They are a brown with a subtle gold/green stripe fabric.  Pointed toe, always slimming to the leg, nice heel height.  I consider these shoes a neutral, but when I wear them with a solid-color suit, they become a nice bit of eye candy.  I’ve had compliments from many men as well as women.  Anyway, that day, I could have sold 10 pair without even trying.  When upstairs trying on dresses, I had more inquiries about where could they buy my shoes!  I say this to designers; when you have a great shoe, bring it back every few years.  There’s the good ones that will always be in demand.

There’s a wide selection of what’s available in Nordstrom’s Dress Shop.  Just scrolling down a bit I note we start at $98.  Very nice!  Don’t forget girls, Double Points start November 4th!  I’ll be at the Tampa Nordstrom store at International Plaza.

Layover in Tampa?  No problem!  The International Plaza should be in the top of your list of places to visit when you’re in the area.  It’s a favorite of mine and I try to work my travels so I can stop in.  It’s right next door to Tampa International Airport (TPA). 

Great to lunch at Nordstrom’s. Many high-end stores (Neiman Marcus & Tiffany to name a few) but there’s really something for everyone here. Visit Crate and Barrel’s freestanding store (on the parking lot grounds).  They feature a great “staged” upper floor where you can see merchandise in place. Makes it easy to shop for your home or apartment.  Z-Gallerie is fun.  I’m always amazed at Robb & Stucky.  I believe it’s a flagship store and there’s a huge difference from other Robb’s I’ve visited. Great decorating ideas, beautiful furniture and accessories. If you need help, their staff is very attentive.
