INC International Concepts at Macy’s – Chicago’s Michigan Avenue

Saturday, September 11th, 2010

I wish I had allowed more time for shopping at Macy’s when there recently. I believe this store has been a work in progress since taking over the closed Lord & Taylor space in Water Tower. This visit was a delightful surprise as I feel the store is getting better and better.

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

I always have to stop in at J. Crew. They are outstanding at layering and accessorizing.  The cardigans, belts, necklaces – wonderful and fun. Here’s a look at what they are offering at their Michigan Avenue store.

Sweet layering

Above you have the “flannel” shirt shown with a skirt and tie and also as a “belt” on the outfit on the right. The fur-collared jacket is great with the dress above or the “flannel” shirt and pants shown below.

Glittering up casual

Bloomingdales , 900 N. Michigan Avenue, Chicago, was buzzing with excitement as customers shopped for their fall wardrobes. Military and casual looks are paired with sparkle to bring up the bar on your everyday wear. Change your shoes and jewelry to easily take you from afternoon errands to fun nights on the town. Here’s a cute camouflage dress and outfit from Michael Kors I thought were great!

 Glitter, military & rouching

INC International Concepts is another of my favorite lines to freshen up your wardrobe at great prices. I find their styles fresh, fun and great fitting on many figure types. Here again we see military looks and colors along with glitter that adds fun to your look.

Easy to wear styles

Here’s Karen Kane outfits with leggings. These bring to mind great travel options.  Airplane travelers take note: these pack easily, are comfortable and stylish, will keep you warm with jackets, and look good with flats or boots.

Always a winner

Clarins at Nordstrom: A nice makeover at day’s end

Shopping at Nordstrom on Chicago’s Michigan Avenue, I was tired late afternoon. Going through the lively cosmetic area, a gal pulled me aside and asked to do a makeover.  I was tired but upon her insistence, I sat in a director’s chair while she gave me a “pick-me-up.” After a great face, neck and hand massage, she applied some makeup and spruced me up!  It was just what I needed to keep going!  Clarins has a nice product line.  I carry the hand cream in my purse and bought the neck cream that day.  It was a welcome break that afternoon and an opportunity to know more about the product.

I went to Chicago’s Gold Coast, Michigan Avenue,  on Saturday, November 21st, for a day of taking in big-city energy, shopping, seeing the sites and people-watching.  Unbeknownst to us, it was Christmas parade and tree lights day.  By 4:00 pm, you could not walk on the sidewalks of Michigan Avenue!  We’d been in Nordstrom for several hours and wanted to stop by Ann Taylor.  We maneuvered out the back of Nordstrom and side streets to Ann Taylor.  I was able to relax in a big arm chair and watch the parade while my friend was in the fitting rooms.  She ended up buying several nice pieces she’ll use this holiday season. The salespeople were very knowledgeable and so cheerful!  One of the salespeople, a young man, had a great sense of humor and really knew his business! Good going Ann Taylor ! Things were hopping and holiday party-dressing needs accomplished!  We finished shopping as the parade was over and the parade crowd dispersed. The street was glowing with lights and smiling faces.  Here are a few pictures from my phone of the “after parade” party.
